Senior Scientist of the Laboratory of Endocrine Neurobiology

Role

Basic Scientist

Research Interests

Imre Kalló is a basic scientist focused on the neuroendocrine control of mammalian reproduction.  He applies various neuroanatomical approaches for animal models, which exhibit a wide range of social systems including eusocial as well as solitary species.  His research projects aim to characterise the cellular components of  the hypothalamic neuronal circuitry regulating the hypophyseal-gonadal axis and/or establish neuronal links with stress and metabolic regulation.  Imre Kalló's collaborative work combines the traditional light- and electron microscopic approaches with the latest imaging and molecular biological tools and published in leading journals of the field.
